1967 Ford Mustang
The 1967 Ford Mustang brought the first major redesign. Although it was longer and wider, the Mustang kept the
same wheel base of 108 incches. The grille opening was made larger to give the Mustang a meaner look as the rear
taillight panel was concave. The fastback now reached all the way to the rear of the trunk, and on all three models
you could find simulated panel scoops on the rear quarters.
One new engine was added to the line up, the first Mustang big block, the 390ci. Rated at 320hp, the 390 used a
single 600cfm Hollye fourbarrel carburetor with cast iro intake and manifolds. All Mustangs containing the
390 had a dual exhaust system. A total of 28,800 Mustangs with the 390 engine were produced by Ford Motor Company.
